| Blue Excellence | Experienced at distance, has come frustratingly close in 8 starts at this level. Last out in mid-March was done in by sloppy ground. Missed third by a nose month before that over Tokyo 2000m. Lacks kick but has come close too often to ignore. With a bit of luck. |
| Caucus | Hefty 7-year-old gelding has 3-7-8 from 3 starts this year, all at Tokyo over 1800m and 2000m following 8-month layoff. Needs right trip to bring out best of late speed. Not promising. |
| Galocher | Versatile, consistent mare has made the money 5 times from 9 starts at this level and missed the board only once. Last 5 starts all at Nakayama and speed possibly better suited to smaller venue. Tokyo 2000m may be out of reach for win, but could round out a trio. Worth a wager. |
| Granatus | Only 2 wins and 2 thirds from 17 starts, raced primarily over 1200m and 1400m. Given first race at 1800m last out end of January at Tokyo, finished 6th. First time over 2000m, many unknowns, but speed lacking. Not promising. |
| Kitano Impact | Big horse moving up in class, veteran over 2000m and 2200m. Won over Chukyo 2000m end of March. Is 4-3-10-2 in 4 starts at Tokyo. Ample chance. |
| Le Timbre | Mare winless since summer 2019 posted last 5 finishes on board at 2400m and 2500m. Dropping down in distance likely a plus. Has good late speed. Could surprise. |
| Satono Genesis | 5-year-old has 3-1-1 from only 3 career starts, all over Tokyo 2000m and 2400m. Has not raced since February 2019. Wild card. |
| Stella d’Oro | Won over Chukyo 2000m end of March, then finished length off front in Nakayama 2000m in April. Has 5-11-10 from three Tokyo starts 1-2 furlongs shorter. Not promising. |
