03/07/2017 15:00

The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting six races from the Eclipse Stakes Day meeting at Sandown Racecourse in the United Kingdom on Saturday, 8 July (1st race 8:20pm).

Established in 1886, the Group 1 Eclipse Stakes (1990m, for 3yo+) is run in memory of the greatest English racehorse of the 18th century, Eclipse, which was born during the solar eclipse of April, 1764.  The race is famed for being the first opportunity in the UK racing calendar for the Classic generation to take on their elders at middle distance in open G1 company.

Many of racing’s biggest names have won the race, including the great champions Isinglass (1894), Mill Reef (1971) and Brigadier Gerard (1972), as well as star gallopers such as Sadler’s Wells (1984), Dancing Brave (1986), Mtoto (1987, 1988), Giant’s Causeway (2000), Sea The Stars (2009), So You Think (2011) and Golden Horn (2015).

Subject to change, the six races on the card are as follows:
S1-1 08:20 pm 3yo 71-90 Handicap
S1-2 08:50 pm Sprint Stakes
S1-3 09:25 pm 3yo+ Handicap
