The Club has been informed that prior to departing Japan last night Jockey Yuga Kawada tested positive to COVID-19.  As such, Jockey Kawada is required to withdraw from participating in the LONGINES International Jockeys’ Championship (“IJC”).

In accordance with the provisions of the IJC prospectus, Jockey Lyle Hewitson has been substituted for Jockey Kawada in the four IJC races.  Accordingly, the Stewards have approved the following riding substitutions:-

Race 4: CHARMING STEED – L Hewitson
Race 5: SUNNY DELIGHT – L Hewitson
Race 7: RED MAJESTY – L Hewitson
Race 8: HERE COMES TED – L Hewitson

A further release will be issued later today in respect of Jockey Hollie Doyle’s eligibility to ride at the IJC racemeeting.
