1409m – Turf

True Statesman |
Has won his last two starts, latterly with a very easy win in a handicap over this trip at Chester. Stable have a good record in this. |
2 |
Coco Jack |
Makes a quick reappearance after being outpaced by two decent rivals in a Newmarket handicap, racing off the same mark here. A three-time winner but others look preferred. |
3 |
Far Shot |
Narrowly justified favouritism in a maiden on his debut. Didn’t make an impact at Royal Ascot but unlucky not to win a 1200m Ascot handicap this month, having to delay his challenge. |
4 |
Faisal Road |
Beat some subsequent winners when successful at Yarmouth on his debut. Has changed stables since finishing last at Royal Ascot. Should be fine at 1400m, and tries handicapping. |
5 |
Self Praise |
Second in four consecutive races – sometimes looking unlucky – before proving too strong for eight rivals at Chester. Into a handicap for the first time. |
6 |
Seductive Power |
Positive signs from all starts, especially with a front-running success at Newbury last time – showing a willing attitude there. Pedigree optimistic about this longer trip on his handicap debut. |
7 |
Miss Jungle Cat |
Her dam won over this trip at two, so good chances it will suit this filly who was drawing clear of her rivals in a fast-ground 1200m handicap at York this month. |
8 |
X J Rascal |
Despite showing inexperience he made a winning debut at Brighton. Failed to justify favouritism but was finishing well when fourth at Carlisle, looking as though this rise in trip would help. |
9 |
Sunningdale |
Looks to be gradually improving. Unruly from the gate but was doing some good work at the finish in a 1200m novices’ event at Newbury in late June. |
10 |
Centre Court |
Her two races have been over shorter but she looks bred for this trip. However the subsequent form of her two runs – including a novice win at Newmarket – have not worked out well so far. |
11 |
Dayyan |
Not a positive sign that he was well beaten on his only previous Goodwood run. Did much better when leading for much of the trip in an Ascot handicap last time. Has a 1lb tougher mark today. |
12 |
Prairie Falcon |
Not beaten far in maiden and novice company on his last two starts – both over 1200m at Ayr. Handicap company could well suit, along with this rise to 1400m. |
13 |
Surely Not |
A late surge saw him catch some better fancied rivals over this trip on the Lingfield all-weather in June. He then led before fading fast in a novices’ event at Ascot. |
