1300m – Polytrack

1

Power Jack

An outsider for this handicap last year, running really well to finish second. Several good performances since including a 1400m Saint Cloud turf win in May.

2

Hot Spot

Not one of the big fancies for this last year, but quickened better than his rivals to win with a bit to spare. Also a winner on his penultimate start over 1500m.

3

Fayathaan

Failed to make an impact in a G3 in Rome (but did win a 1600m G3 in Rome last year) or a handicap at Longchamp on his last two starts. Twice second over this course and distance.

4

Crowdfunding

Christophe Soumillon won on him at Chantilly in February and resumes the partnership here. Has had a break since a poor run on turf at Longchamp.

5

Schooner Ridge

A smart and consistent filly, and very effective at this sort of trip on all-weather and turf surfaces. Should be sharper for her third at Compiegne on last month’s 2022 return. Chance.

6

Mon Ami L’Ecossais

His last 18 starts have been over longer trips than this, but he does have past winning form over this course and distance, and was a close third in this race back in 2019.

7

Sixntwothrees

Two wins since moving from the UK to France have come over 1400m on soft turf surfaces at Saint Cloud and Chantilly. Needs to prove herself on polytrack but is talented.

8

Winwood

Not one of the stars of France’s greatest stable but has finished second on polytrack at Deauville and Chantilly. Should be capable of winning one soon.

9

Lanaken

Versatile distance-wise but his two wins have come on a turf surface. A close fourth in a Longchamp handicap last time.

10

Ozan

A 1500m winner on the polytrack here last year, and in good form last month when outpacing ten rivals over 1400m on the turf at Compiegne.

11

Torpen

Gained two victories early in his career over this course and distance, but some subsequent Deauville disappointments. Came close to winning on turf at Longchamp in June.

12

Raysteve

His three wins have all come on the all-weather track at Chantilly, one of them over this trip. Ran a close fourth on turf here last time, an encouraging first run for this stable.

13

Brouillard

His two career wins have both come on turf at Longchamp. Has some respectable all-weather form but will need to improve on it here.

14

Come Say Hi

Has had a break since a narrow victory over 15 rivals on soft turf ground at Saint Cloud in May. Hasn’t raced over a trip as short as this for a long time, but won over it in 2019.

15

Chirimiri

His two wins – including a 1200m success here – have been on turf surfaces. But his pedigree gives hope that he will be fine on this surface. Ran poorly on grass here last time.

16

Shalgoda Diamond

Encouraging that two of her three wins have come over this course and distance. And maybe unlucky not to finish closer than sixth over 1200m here latest.
