G1 – 1594m – Turf

1

Alcohol Free

A bargain purchase who has already won a Newmarket G1 and a Newbury G3. Didn’t look like winning a G1 Newmarket Classic last time, but only beaten 2L in fifth. Unlikely to be far from the money here.

2

Empress Josephine

This G1 became the target after a late surge saw her win a G1 Classic at The Curragh last month. That was on heavy ground but her brilliant sister Minding was very effective on quick ground.

3

Fev Rover

An outsider for the G1 Fillies’ Classic at Newmarket last month but despite racing too keenly on that 2021 return, she ran an excellent third. Didn’t run to the same level at The Curragh last time.

4

Flirting Bridge

This big strong filly did not show much on her 2021 return, but, despite having a lot to prove on ratings, she finished a fine second in a G3 over this trip at Leopardstown last month.

5

Lullaby Moon

Enthusiastic and talented, she closed down 2020 with a G3 win. Hampered in a Longchamp G1 on her return. Can do better.

6

Mother Earth

A sustained challenge saw this experienced filly land a surprise victory in last month’s G1 Fillies’ Classic at Newmarket, then an excellent second in the French version at Longchamp. A live player.

7

Novemba

Overseas raiders have a good record in this race and this German-trained filly appeared to be progressing fast judging by the way she demolished her rivals from the front in a 1600m Dusseldorf G2.

8

Oodnadatta

Third in a prestigious G1 last season, but it will be tough winning this on her 2021 return though her Irish stable is in good form. She wants good or faster ground.

9

Potapova

Her two races have only been in novice company but she could not have been more impressive each time, winning by 6.5L and 8L. Leaps into a G1 battle now.

10

Pretty Gorgeous

A G1 Newmarket winner over this trip on her final 2020 start, always looking comfortable that day. A disappointing favourite when returning in a G1 Classic at The Curragh, but deep ground may be an excuse.

11

Primo Bacio

Slow from the gates and too buzzy in the race but she still won that Listed event at York last month as impressively as any three-year-old 1600m filly seen in the UK this year. Surely has G1 potential.

12

Shale

Under pressure a long way out but kept responding to win a G1 at the Curragh last year. Didn’t look fully fit on her return and should be sharper now.

13

Snow Lantern

Started favourite for a hot Listed event at York following an eyecatching maiden win at Newbury. But she never settled and still appeared to lack experience, finishing third. Needs to mature.
