1600m – Turf

1

Friendly

Not beaten far when sixth in a G1 Classic at The Curragh last time. Will need to excel to win this big handicap off joint top weight.

2

Illykato

Trying this trip for the first time, she ran on strongly to win a Listed event at Goodwood. Tough to win this off a big weight.

3

My Generation

Proven at this trip, winning a Listed event at Dundalk in March. However disappointing in two subsequent turf starts.

4

Thinking Of You

Couldn’t quite reel in the two in front of her, in a Leopardstown G3. Then disappointed in a heavy ground.G1.

5

Kestenna

Twice an all-weather winner and, though she didn’t really prove her turf credentials when fifth at York last month, that had the look of a very strong handicap.

6

Create Belief

Staked her claim to this prize when a sustained challenge saw her win a good 1600m handicap at The Curragh. Soft ground please.

7

Star Of Emaraaty

The shock winner of a 1400m fast-ground Newmarket G3 for a different stable last August. Debut in handicap company.

8

Mamba Wamba

Has had a busy career so far but has only won one of her 11 starts and is not yet proven over this trip.

9

Ready To Venture

To fancy her here one needs to forgive a dismal effort last time. Previously a good third over this course and distance. Quick ground preferred.

10

Divine Light

Deserves respect from a top stable but needs to improve on both her 2021 starts.

11

Prado

Showed promise at two but blew the start here on her 2021 return and never looked like winning. Clearly needs to do better.

12

Camdeboo

Not quick enough over 1100m last time but had previously easily beaten better fancied rivals over 1400m at Cork.

13

Messidor

Twice a winner at two but has not progressed as much as it was hoped in three 2021 starts.

14

Glesga Gal

Although yet to win from three turf starts, she clearly has a big engine judging by her last two wins at Wolverhampton. Up in distance for this big challenge.

15

A’Shaari

A soft ground 1400m Newmarket winner on her only 2020 start, but never threatened twice this year.

16

Teodolina

Looks a likely type for this having already won a handicap over the straight 1600m here this year. Softening ground would be a plus.

17

Lucid Dreamer

Looked a group class horse in the making when winning both starts last year. Led a Newbury G3 in April but faded. Up in distance, down in class.

18

Pomelo

Hasn’t raced since last November but this well-bred tall filly showed some real quality when winning twice. No trip worries.

19

Belief

She won a decent-looking novices’ event in a good time at Thirsk on her third and latest outing. Looks smart and is fanciable here.

20

Far Hope

This progressive filly has won two from three starts – including at this trip – and only just beaten in the other. Has a willing attitude, and looks fairly handicapped.

21

Urban Violet

Despite racing too freely and meeting traffic, she was the runaway well-backed winner of an 1800m Sandown handicap on her 2021 return. Failed to repeat that last time.

22

Samoot

Not helped by a wide trip when a beaten favourite in an all-weather handicap last time. Had accelerated nicely to win at Salisbury previously.

23

Rising Star

Smart at two winning two of her five starts. But it won’t be easy beating race-hardened rivals after a 236-day break.

24

Beheld

Beaten into second as favourite at Kempton this month after racing too freely. Appears to have lots of potential so interesting on this handicap debut.

25

She Do

Although finding one improving rival too strong, she certainly proved that she had trained on into a decent three-year-old at Wolverhampton in May.

26

Montego Bay

Not one of the stable stars but easily won a 1400m slow-ground maiden at Naas last month. A disappointing favourite last time.

27

Professional Widow

Runner-up on her first three starts and put that right with a game handicap victory at Nottingham. Proven at this trip, not the case for many of her rivals.

28

Riknnah

Comes here fresh off two recent all-weather wins at around 1400m. This is a different challenge but the extra trip looks fine.

29

Companionship

Two good efforts, including a win, at two. Well backed but weakened right out in a slow-ground 2000m Listed race at Newbury last month.

30

Mirage Mac

Has winning form over a straight 1600m, at Newbury last year. Led but faded on fast ground at Salisbury this month.

Reserves

31

Dawndiva

Led virtually from the gate when winning a maiden over this trip at Goodwood on her 2021 return. Then ran decently under a penalty at the same track.

32

Rosemary And Thyme

Yet to win on a turf surface, though did run decently at Salisbury two starts back. Hard to fancy.
