1600m – Turf
1 | Makanani | Will find this easier than recent starts but her first-up run was poor and hard to recommend here. |
2 | Elite Quarteto | Remains unplaced from six local starts to date and resumes for a new stable. Needs it easier and others are preferred. |
3 | Minister | Has shown good ability in Singapore, with two wins from three starts, and aims for a hat-trick this week. Sees Class 2 for the first time, but this is a highly-winnable race. |
4 | Sacred Croix | Raced keen first-up but checked home an eye-catching fifth place. More than capable of winning and the step up in trip looks ideal. Good chance. |
5 | Bahana | Old-timer who has not won for 1365 days. A big improvement is needed to feature and hard to recommend in a race like this. |
6 | Pax Animi | Thriving five-year-old who won impressively first-up over 1400m in Class 3 14 days ago. Sees Class 2 for the first time but is on an upward trend, en route to the Derby. |
7 | Time Lord | Was ridden quiet first-up, which is contrary to his usual tactics when winning from on the lead two starts ago. Rises in class here and place claims are preferred. |
8 | Per Inpower | Overlook last start when badly held up and finishing a luckless 11th place. More than capable on his day but can be hard to catch. |
9 | Augustus | Showed no interest over 1400m first-up, settling at the rear but returning good late splits to check home three lengths into ninth. Capable of surprising rising in distance and consider. |
10 | Ocean Crossing | Looks hard to win on his current rating but has been consistent in 13 career starts, which should hold him in good stead. Light-weight claims on just 106lb. |
