A big galloping horse who probably stays this distance. Unlike many jumping horses, he probably prefers quick ground to slower.

Received a massive payout for coming second in a 3000m event in Saudi Arabia in February. He was outclassed in the G1 Gold Cup here on Thursday but this is technically an easier task. He’s got stamina but has he got enough for this marathon?

A six times winner over obstacles, looking best on slow ground. Not at his best so far this year and doesn’t have a profile suggesting he will win this.

The Grand Visir

Stayed on strongly to win the slightly shorter Ascot Stakes at this meeting last year. Even more stamina required for this but according to figures he’s got a decent chance.

Who Dares Wins

A good 3rd in the shorter Ascot Stakes at this meeting in 2017. He is a high class hurdler and no surprise at all if he runs well here.

Mukha Magic

Comfortably won three successive all-weather Flat handicaps this year. But no evidence he will thrive over this much longer trip.

Nate The Great

His pedigree suggests he will struggle at this trip but that applies to plenty of his rivals also. Ran a decent 3rd at Newmarket this month.
