“I didn’t think he’d win like that but the quality of this horse is amazing. His turn of foot is incredible. He has everything a good horse should have and he has it in spades. This is the race here in Hong Kong I want to win.”
2nd: DANON THE KID – Yuichi Kitamura
“Because of the different surroundings from Japan, he wasn’t relaxed a bit after starting from the gate, but when the pace was picked up I still focused on keeping his good rhythm and he unleashed his power between the horses in front like he did in the Mile Championship last time.”
3rd: MONEY CATCHER – Silvestre de Sousa
“He ran a good race, pleased with his performance.”
4th: TOURBILLON DIAMOND – Hugh Bowman
“He was fantastic. A wide draw forced us right back but he was very gallant.”
5th: RUSSIAN EMPEROR – Blake Shinn
“He had his chance but he finished the race off really well. Good effort.”
6th: GEOGLYPH – William Buick
“He was checked early in the straight and lost a little momentum but kept coming. He’s a three-year-old with a nice career ahead of him.”
7th: JACK D’OR – Yutaka Take
“He was nervous at the gate and didn’t get a good spot that he wanted. He travelled well but he didn’t respond well in the final stretch.”
8th: KA YING STAR – Luke Ferraris
“They’re just a bit too good for him.”
9th: LEI PAPALE – Joao Moreira
“She didn’t run up to her best. This was a very strong race, the local horses in particular the winner seems to be outstanding. I’m just pleased than thankful that I had the opportunity to ride her.”
10th: PANTHALASSA – Yutaka Yoshida
“He started slower than expected. I thought he would grab the bit at the first turn but he didn’t. The pace was slow and he didn’t respond.”
11th: ORDER OF AUSTRALIA – Ryan Moore
“He was disappointing, he didn’t run up to his best today.”
12th: SAVVY NINE – Karis Teetan
“He’s just not in this league.”
