LONGINES Hong Kong Cup

Danon The Kid – JPN
Warmed up in the trotting ring and had an easy canter on the all weather course.
“He moved nicely and kept good rhythm. He will gallop on the turf course tomorrow,” assistant trainer Keiichiro Yasuda said.

Lei Papale – JPN
Exercised in the warm-up ring at the quarantine stable area and cantered one lap on the all-weather track, clocking 1m 32.7s (32.4, 33.1, 27.2).
Assistant trainer Yoichi Ogawa said: “Everything has gone well so far.”

Geoglyph – JPN 
Warmed up in the quarantine training area before cantering one lap around the all weather track and hacking a half a lap, clocking 1m 03.7s (34.3, 29.4).
Yuya Tsuchida, assistant to Tetsuya Kimura, said: “Even though it was his first time on the all weather track he trained well. He was a bit nervous at first but settled into his training and did better than I expected. I got a good impression from this first work so we will keep making slight adjustments as the week progresses.”

Jack d’Or – JPN 
Warmed up in the quarantine training area before cantering one and a half laps around the all weather track, clocking 1m 38.3s (34.1, 34.5, 29.7s) for the last 1200m.
Kazuma Kageyama, assistant to Kenichi Fujioka, said: “This morning he was a bit nervous when he passed near the photographers but he calmed down considerably after that. He is adjusting well.”

Panthalassa – JPN 
Warmed up in the quarantine training area before cantering one and a half laps around the all weather trac, clocking 32.9s for the last 400m.

Yusaku Oka, assistant to Yoshito Yahagi, said: “He is acting like his usual naughty self when he is in peak condition. Tomorrow, we will breeze him over the turf and I think we will be able to train very well.”

Order Of Australia – IRE
Cantered strongly over a lap of the all-weather course with stablemates Broome and Stone Age, clocking 1m 23.6 (27.7, 28.0, 27.9) for the final 1200m.
Travelling head lad Pat Keating said: “They just did a little bit more today than yesterday and we will just keep building it up during the week. I would think we will stay on the all-weather track.”

Danon Scorpion – JPN
Exercised in the warm-up ring at the quarantine stable area and cantered two laps on the all weather course.
Assistant trainer Keiichiro Yasuda said: “He was able to stretch his legs with good rhythm and is in good form mentally. He will do the fast work on turf tomorrow.”

Schnell Meister – JPN
Warmed up in the quarantine training area before cantering around the all weather course.
Shun Nabata, assistant to Takahisa Tezuka, said: “As it was only his second time out on the training track he was a bit nervous today but he seems to be in good shape.”

Salios – JPN 
Warmed up in the quarantine training area before trotting 400m and hacking 1000m on the all weather course. 
Mitsuo Tsuchiaki, assistant for Noriyuki Hori, said: “He was much calmer today compared to yesterday as he is obviously adapting to his environment. Starting tomorrow we start to fine tune him for this weekend.”

Laws Of Indices – AUS
Worked over 1200m on the turf track, clocking 1m 22.1s (30.6, 27.8, 23.7).

Naran Huleg – JPN
Exercised in the trotting ring at the quarantine stable area and cantered a lap on the all weather course under jockey Kyosuke Maruta.
“We usually work our horse in the training centre in Japan, so it is his first experience to work at the racecourse. Actually, he sweated and was not settled in, however, as he has not come on the track for two days since he arrived, it was not our concern,” Maruta said.

Meikei Yell – JPN
Warmed up in the trotting ring before cantering two on the al-weather track.
Assistant trainer Kaname Ogino said: “She had a very good mode this morning. I was glad that she was able to work without the draw reins. She was very relaxed.”

Gendarme – JPN
Warmed up in the quarantine training area before cantering one and a half laps around the all weather track, clocking 33.8s for the last 400m.

Yuki Iwasaki, assistant for Yasutoshi Ikee, said: “He had nice fluid footwork today and is relaxed. He is in good condition.”

Resistencia – JPN 
Warmed up in the quarantine training area before cantering one and a half laps around the all weather track, clocking 1m 07.1s (34.7, 32.4).

Toru Kawakita, assistant for Takeshi Matsushita, said: “She has relaxed a lot. Tomorrow, we will breeze her on the turf.”

Lim’s Kosciuszko – SIN
Cantered for one lap on the all weather track.

 

LONGINES Hong Kong Vase

Botanik – FR
Cantered 1200m on the main turf track under work-rider Nicolas Barzalona, clocking 1m 23.4s (29.3, 28.5, 25.6). Headed to the paddock for schooling afterwards.
Andre Fabre’s travelling head groom Richard Lambert said: “He did just what he needed to and he enjoyed being on the turf. He was looking around a bit but everything went fine. Nicolas was very happy with him and said his breathing was normal so that’s all good. We went to the paddock afterwards so he could get a feel for it.

Bubble Gift – FR
Did a steady solo canter on the dirt under regular rider Valerian Idier, clocking 56.4s (29.4, 27.0) for the final 800m.
Contacted by phone before travelling to Hong Kong, trainer Mikel Delzangles said: “I think, given the major change in environment, he’s handled it all pretty well. He will have a canter on the turf on Wednesday, under his regular rider.”

Broome – IRE
Cantered strongly over a lap of the all-weather course with stablemates Stone Age and Order Of Australia, clocking 1m 23.6s (27.8, 28.0, 27.8) for the final 1200m.

Stone Age – IRE
Cantered strongly over a lap of the all-weather course with stablemates Stone Age and Order Of Australia, clocking 1m 23.7s(27.8, 28.1, 27.8) for the final 1200m.

Mendocino – GER
Worked a lap on the grass, quickening up over the last 1200m, clocking 1m 27.4s (34.1, 29.4, 23.9) before going to the parade ring for schooling.
Trainer Sarah Steinberg said: “I’m very happy with him. His work this morning was really good and he was relaxed afterwards. He also looks really good.”

Glory Vase – JPN
Warmed up in the quarantine training area before cantering one lap around the all weather track.
Satou Takeuchi, assistant to Tomohito Ozeki, said “The horse knows this track really well and calm. His condition is coming along nicely.”

Win Marilyn – JPN
Warmed up in the trotting ring at the quarantine stable and came on the all-weather track for one lap.
