Has only raced five times. However he did win convincingly here first time after a break last season so the latest absence should not be a problem.

Has only competed three times and this is his first start for 567 days. Slowly away but finished well when third in a 1600m Newmarket G3 when last seen.

Lucander

Still burdened with quite a challenging handicap mark considering he has been beaten in his last 11 starts. Seasonal debut but he has performed well over this course and distance before.

Notre Belle Bete

Came close to winning several times on turf when trained in Ireland. Has won all three starts on the all-weather this year, fighting hard at Kempton last time. His stable won this last year.

Cap Francais

Has not won for almost two years but is beginning to look nicely handicapped if managing to recapture some good performances of 2020. First run at Newmarket.

Forest Falcon

Like many stablemates usually races close to the speed, tactics that saw him win handicaps on his last two 2021 starts. No excuses for an all-weather third on his return, but may be sharper for that.

Anythingtoday

A seven-times winning veteran, still performing close to his best on all five starts this year. However he may well be vulnerable to less exposed rivals here.

Turntable

Trained in Newmarket and his best runs have also come here, finishing 2021 when a strong finish saw him win a handicap over this course and distance. But a career-high handicap mark this time.

Fast Medicine

Came back from a break, a gelding operation and wearing a first-time hood, he looked much improved with a stylish Nottingham victory. Perhaps leniently handicapped with just a 5lb penalty.

Fox Power

Did run well in a 1600m handicap on his only previous Newmarket run. But he remains without a turf win in 13 starts and was a beaten favourite on the all-weather last time.
