| 5 | Matchless | In great shape having won his last two starts, and makes a quick return after leading throughout in a Doncaster handicap. But yet to prove he is as effective over this trip as shorter. |
| 6 | Love Is Golden | His two wins last season came around Chester’s tight bends – very different to Newmarket. Would have finished closer at Epsom this month, had he enjoyed a clear passage. |
