Since moved up to the group race class in December, never missed on board in 3 recent runs including 2nd at G3 over 2000m.

Red Genesis

Won and ran descent 2nd at two G2 races over 2200m last term but no match for the winner when moving up to the G1 races. Will need to do more to win.

Humidor

Has not won since stepping up to the graded stakes class in December 2020, but took 2 seconds at G3 over 2000m. Coming off a 6th to the G1 Dubai Turf dead-heat winner Panthalassa in the 1800m-G2 Nakayama Kinen recently.

Jack d’Or

The promising 4-year-old colt steps up to G1 level on Sunday. Looking for his 6th straight win off a course record at Chukyo (G2) last start.

Akai Ito

Last year’s G1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup winner.  Rounded off the term with 7th place in the G1 Arima Kinen (2500m). Finished well 3rd at 2000m G2 Kinko Sho latest.

Efforia

The champion 3-year-old colt and 2021 Horse of the Year won 4 races from 5 starts last year including the G1 Satsuki Sho, G1 Tenno Sho Autumn and G1 Arima Kinen. His only defeat thus far in seven starts was only a nose loss to the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic winner Shahryar in the G1 Japanese Derby.

Win Marilyn

Two time G2 winner last term comes off a disappointing 16th in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup (2200m) last November. Will need to find her best form, but if she does, has a chance.

Potager

Showed his consistency with four successive win over the distance, 1 second and 2 thirds at Group level. Finished on board in two recent starts. Could hang on a place.

Arrivo

The Kokura racecourse liking with all 5 wins including the latest G3 win at the track. 1800m to 2000m should be his best trip. Versatile groundwise.

Hishi Iguazu

Very solid performances between 1800m and 2000m with six wins in 13 starts. Delivered impressive challenge for 2nd finish in the latest G1 Hong Kong Cup. Versatile tactics.

Stellaria

Out of frame in the two classic races last term and reproduced her form when 2nd in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup (2200m) last November, but poor race at the recent G2 over the distance.

Shonan Bardi

4 from 5 wins with 3 seconds and 3 thirds over 2000m. Won at G3 last December but finished out of frame in two runs this term.

King of Koji

The 2500m-G2 Meguro Kinen winner of 2020 suffered broken injury and ran twice last term. Started off this season with winning a 2200m G2 in January last out.

Lei Papale

Succeeded to be undefeated in six runs of this race last year but has not tasted any success since. Bounced back for 2nd on her return from 3-month break at G2 last out.

African Gold

Showed upward curve in the recent three starts and took his first win in more than two years at the 2200m-G2 Kyoto Kinen in February.

Makahiki

The 9-year-old veteran horse took his first win in 5 years in the G2 Kyoto Daishoten (2400m) last October, but has had two poor runs since. Needs more to prove.
