The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club) was notified today (28 November) by an employee working at the Whampoa Off-Course Betting Branch (OCBB) that he has preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19. His last reporting day was on 27 November and he worked behind counter windows most of the time over the past 14 days.

The Club has decided to close the Whampoa OCBB with immediate effect until further notice for thorough cleaning and disinfection. It has communicated with all staff working at the Whampoa OCBB and is arranging for them to undergo COVID-19 testing today. Regardless of the test results, they have been advised to self-isolate at home for 14 days.

In addition, the Club would like to remind those customers who have visited the Whampoa OCBB since 14 November to stay vigilant about their health condition and seek medical advice when necessary.
