SIN G1 – 1600m – Turf
1 | Countofmontecristo | Local champion and highest rated horse who has notched up 10 career wins. Returned with an impressive victory over 1200m on the Polytrack when he lumped 130lb when he finished powerfully off a hot speed. Back to weight for age and will be expected to start favourite and be hard to beat. |
2 | Mr Clint | Singapore Gold Cup winner from last year who turned in a slashing return run over 1200m behind Countofmontecristo in July before failing over 1400m behind Passport To Rome on the turf when he looked flat. At his best he can win but there appears to be two of him. |
3 | I’m Incredible | Horse of the year from 2019 who has failed to recapture his best form from last season form with two very ordinary performances in 2020, beaten 15 lengths and then just under 5 lengths last start. Would need a massive improvement to play a part in the finish based on his two starts this year. |
4 | Preditor | Stablemate to I’m Incredible and another who showed very little last start when finishing 14th to Passport To Rome. Has not won for 735 days and will need to improve. |
5 | War Affair | Former champion galloper who has not won for 1190 days. Just turned 10 years of age and had every chance when 7th to Passport To Rome when he secured a cushy run on the rail but never looked a winning chance. |
6 | Yulong Edition | Promising stayer who found the rise in class last start a little too tough when he raced on speed but weakened in the straight. Now rises to a group one at weight for age and a win would surprise. |
7 | Sun Marshal | Former Singapore Derby winner from last year who faces a monumental task at group one level fresh up from a 162 break. Last raced when he finished 3rd to Yulong Edition on a rain affected track. He has the class but a serious fitness cloud hangs over him. |
8 | Siam Blue Vanda | Winner of the Stewards’ Cup (4yo only) who had every chance at his biggest test last start to date in a Class 1 when he could only manage a 6th place finish to Passport To Rome. Needs to improve at this level. |
9 | King Louis | Multiple group one placegetter and proven weight for age galloper who returned form with a slashing 2nd place to Passport To Rome. Appears to be back to his best and will give this a mighty shake. His chance will be further enhanced if it rains. |
10 | Top Knight | Former champion three-year-old who made a habit of being beaten as a four-year-old. Had little luck behind Passport To Rome when 8th place last start, when he was held up in the straight. Clearly should have finished closer but that was a handicap and this is harder again at weight for age. |

Exceed Natural
|
Nice effort last start when he was making ground late behind Countofmontecristo for 6th place. Previously struggled at this level and a win would surprise. |

Lim’s Samurai
|
Had a feather weight when he led and gave a cheeky sight last start for 3rd place to Passport To Rome at Class 1 level. Racing well but this is much tougher. |
13 | Aramaayo | Has turned in two very good efforts at his last starts when he settled back and charged home late. Suited by the rise in distance and if they overdo it up front then look for him to charge late. |

Safeer
|
Failed 2nd up from a break last start behind Passport To Rome when he showed speed but weakened badly. Appears better suited in a handicap race and not likely to win this. |
15 | Eye Guy | Has never won over 1600m and is better known as a sprinter. May prove to be a pace influence but not suited here. |
16 | On Line | Got held up at a crucial stage approaching the bend last start before doing his best work late behind Pax Animi. Probably lacks the class to win this race. |

17 | Ironside | Has just battled in Class 3 and not well placed here. Cannot recommend. |
18 | Elite Incredible | Former Argentinean galloper who has failed to recapture his overseas form and despite running well last week, it’s hard to see him troubling these. |
19 | Vittoria Perfetta | Was ridden quietly last start and failed to produce anything. Previously showed speed in his races but appears one paced. |
