Listed – 1400m – Turf
| Battleground | Missed the break on his debut but was noted making late headway to finish fifth of 18 in a 1200m Naas maiden. This extra distance will surely suit. |
| Bright Devil | Unfancied in the betting, but, quick from the gates, he grabbed a position against the rail and was never headed in that 1200m Newmarket maiden. Clearly smart. |
| Clarendon Cross | Unloved in the betting prior to his debut in a maiden over this distance at Haydock this month. Finished well into third without threatening to win. |
| First Prophet | Made his debut last Friday and, though looking inexperienced, he travelled strongly and proved too good for six rivals over this trip at Newbury. |
| Golden Flame | Strong-looking, he made an encouraging career debut over this trip at Haydock last week, leading but just finding one rival too strong. |
| March Law | Made quite an encouraging debut when fourth of eight over this distance at Haydock last week. He raced too keenly there. |
| Modern News | Kept on strongly to beat a hugely expensive purchase and eight others in a 1200m Newmarket maiden this month. Pedigree says this longer trip is a plus. |
| Concessions | Only faced two rivals – also both newcomers – when winning a 1400m all-weather maiden this month, briefly outpaced but finishing strongest. |
| Seattle Rock | Last of three over this distance at Chelmsford last week. Not disgraced there but surely not much hope here. |
