G1 – 1600m – Turf
| Al Suhail | Plenty of first class efforts in 2019, and only just outgunned in a G3 over this course and distance on his final start. Soft ground may not have been ideal then. |
| Arizona | Highlights of a fine first season included a G2 Royal Ascot win and when leading most of the way only finding Pinatubo too strong in a 1400m Newmarket G1. |
| Cepheus | The surprise winner of a 1400m Newmarket maiden last August. Stamina worries, but probably not up to this task anyhow. |
| Juan Elcano | Chances that he’ll have stamina for this trip and, though an outsider here, very little wrong with his three 2019 starts, twice close to the winner in G2 company. |
| Kameko | Oisin Murphy’s mount improved throughout 2019, giving the impression he’d be even better at three. A brilliant G1 winner on Newcastle’s all-weather track on his last 2019 start. |
| Kenzai Warrior | From a smaller stable, he won both starts and rallied bravely to beat a collection of in-form rivals in a heavy ground Newmarket G3 in November. No trip worries. |
| Kinross | Blew his rivals away with a brilliant Newmarket debut win. Then favourite for an all-weather G1 at Newcastle but inexperience let him down in that rough race. |
| Military March | May need further than this to really shine but beautifully bred and unbeaten in two starts latterly when leading and then rallying to win a G3 here in October. |
| Mums Tipple | Barely believable the way he thrashed 20 runners by 11 lengths and upwards in a ‘Sales’ race at York last August. But he’s never been beyond about 1200m. |
| New World Tapestry | Judged on achievements so far this colt looks the least likely winner of his trainer’s four runners in this. His sole win was in maiden company here. |
| Persuasion | Two good runs out of three in 2019 and runner-up in a 1400m G3 here on his final start, though soundly beaten by the winner. |
| Pinatubo | The winner of all six starts with one brilliant performance following another even though he had to work a bit harder when encountering soft ground to win a 1400m G1 here in October. The one to beat. |
| Royal Dornoch | On his seventh and final 2019 start he put up by far his best performance when narrowly beating a subsequent G1 winner in a G2 over this course and distance. |
| Starcat | Has only competed once and that was on an all-weather surface. However this tall colt did show good speed to win then, over this distance at Kempton. |
| Wichita | A decisive G3 winner over 1400m here and then looked unhappy on the soft ground – 3rd to Pinatubo in a G1. Stable have a terrific record in this. |
