| 1 | Mclaren | Group 3 winner at 1100m as two-year-old. Returned from spell when 9.2 lengths last of nine behind Miss Leonidas in Caulfield Sprint (1000m) on 19 October. Slow to begin that day and back to own age group here. Handles wet. |
| 2 | Hawker Hurricane | Easy run on speed but ran well when head 2nd to Taraayef in Flemington 1100m Listed race on 5 October. Proven straight course. Has run well on good and soft ground. |
| 3 | Can’t Be Done | Two wins and two seconds from first four starts at 1105m and 1200m before 2.1 lengths 4th to Parmie in Caulfield 1400m in July. Has good speed and capable wet or dry. |
| 4 | Garner | Two impressive wins at this distance before 5 lengths 2nd, under top weight, behind Xilong in 1200m 3YO Handicap at Morphettville on 19 October. Distance suits. Won on good and soft ground. |
