1800m – Turf

Almirena Deep Impact 5-year-old mare trained by Sakae Kunieda has frustrated with 3-2-3-3 result in last four starts, all at 1800m, left-handed tracks, and this level. Chronically late at the break, easily agitated, races with shadow roll. Slow to rev. Could win if start improves.
Astra Cent Ans A 4-year-old filly by Heart’s Cry. Has been in good form since returning for autumn campaign. Ran 2nd when raced on pace in last three starts at this level, over 1800m & 2000m. Suited to Tokyo. Lost by a nose last out over Tokyo 2000m. Good overall speed and late kick. Needs just a bit of luck.
Caucus Ritto-based 5-year-old with 3 wins and 7 placings from 21 starts. Experienced at distance. Can race from any position. Can handle any going. Good speed and late kick. But, difficult temperament, tends to lug out. Could surprise.
Cosmo in the Heart This 4-year-old colt has 2 wins from 11 starts, but has failed to finish better than fourth in last 6 runs, all at this level. Average ability. Not promising.
Genievre 5-year-old with 2 wins, 2 seconds from 28 starts. Took a 1600m dirt event in this raceday last year but winless since on that surface. Returning to turf last timebut not promising.
Jo Book Kommen 4-year-old filly with 2 wins and 13 placings from 28 career starts. Finished 2nd twice in last four starts at this level, all over 1800m. Last out, upset in gate by other horse, broke late. Pace did not suit. Morning work adequate. Could improve with better trip.
Lampedusa 3-year-old daughter of Zenno Rob Roy who won twice over 1800m, including last out at the course and distance a class below in May. Returning after 6 months off. Movement average though eager to run. Could surprise.
Nishino Katsunari 3-year-old Rulership colt. Has made top three in 3 of 5 career starts. Also ran 4th in the G3 Arlington Cup (1600m) at Hanshin in April. Last out 2nd over Tokyo mile on Nov 9. Races from far off pace. Excellent speed and late kick. Extra distance a plus. Likely popular pick.
Peace One Paradis This 3-year-old colt has made money in all 5 career starts. Won first 2 starts over mile, then moved to 2000-2400m.  Best a 3rd in the G2 Aoba Sho (2400m) at Tokyo in April. Last out 3rd in Tokyo 2000m on 27 Oct. Races from midfield. Good speed, excellent kick. Drop in distance a plus. Likely favorite.
Prayer Samson 6-year-old by Meisho Samson with 2 wins and 8 placings from 36 starts. Raced in 1800-2000m range for last 6 starts with best a 3rd in Tokyo 1800m in May. Slow at break and finished 6th last out over Tokyo 2000m on 27 Oct after 2 months off. Improvement likely. Could make money if trip suits.
Shine Arrow 7-year-old gelding with 2 wins and 4 placings from 30 starts. Unplaced in past 9 starts over 1600m to 2000m. Two months off. Slight improvement in work, but not promising.
