1800m – Dirt

Arma Sting

Surprised after sharpener with win last out under these conditions. Now 2 for 6. Moving up in class. Chronically slow out of gate. Competitive but lacks kick.

Cavendish

Won twice over the course and distance, and placed four times from 20 career starts. Ran 7th over 1700m at Sapporo last out on 25 August but was forced wide. Finished 3rd in two previous starts over that distance in July. Tends to travel from rear but last start sat midfield. Looks good in trackwork. Could surprise.

Chronostasis

Has best a 3rd in last 10 starts since January 2018. Last out missed break and travelled from behind but distance suits. Placed at the course and distance back in December 2016. Likely longshot could surprise.

Feel The Pharaoh

Has best a 5th in last 4 starts since moving up to this class. Mainly raced over 1200m-1400m, two career wins both over left-handed tracks and 1400m. Looking good in track work. Good late speed. Could surprise.

Fukusan Rose

Has yet to win since moving up to this class 6 starts ago, best when 3rd at the course and distance last September. Well beaten in each of her two starts in 2019. Return to Nakayama a plus but not promising. First race in over 3 months.

Goodbye Girl

Likely race favourite. Posted 2 wins, a second and third from 5 starts over 1600-1800m this year, including her maiden win at the course and distance in January. Ran 2nd last out after moving up to this level. Return to Nakayama and extra ground a plus. Tends to lead or run from forward position. Good late speed. Can handle any going.

Greenwich City

Moving up in class after posting win last out at the course and distance on 7 September, his second success in 6 career starts. Work adequate. Could surprise.

Logi Tina

Won 2 and placed 6 times from 14 career starts. Has best a 2nd, a 1700m at Fukushima in July last out, from 3 starts at this level. Ran 2nd twice at the course and distance a class below. Can handle any going. Worth a wager.

Lord Strike

Won both starts since changing to dirt and front-running position, a 1600m maiden at Tokyo in May and a 1800m event a class below at Niigata on 1 September latest. Only second time racing to right but held own in debut at Nakayama. Expected popular pick. Moving up in class but has weight advantage at 119lb.

Meiner Stratos

Finished in the top 3 in 20 of his 41 career starts. In good form as he was in the money in 8 of his 11 starts this year, including a 1700m win a class below at Hakodate two back. Experienced at distance and Nakayama. Travels off pace. Good late speed. Looking good in track work. First race in two months.

On The Rocks

3 wins and 11 placings from 35 career starts, also ran 5th in the G2 UAE Derby (1900m) at Meydan in 2016. Three seconds and two thirds in his 6 starts so far this year.  Well beaten in his two previous starts on 1800m dirt however. Good over any going but distance likely too far.

Pyrokinesist

Unplaced in his 4 starts, all over 1700m dirt, so far this year. Last made the top 3 spot was a second in a mile dirt event at Tokyo in April 2018. Return to Nakayama a possible plus, but not promising.

Rikisan Daio

Winless in 10 starts since taking a 2400m dirt event at Kokura last March. Best a third at this level. Well beaten in all his three starts this year. Tends to run close to pace and fade. Not promising.

Shamrock

Took all his three career wins at Nakayama, including twice over the distance. Latest win from a class lower in March but finished 6th and 14th since moving back up in class. Longshot but not to be written off. Prefers fast track.

Spell Marron

Won 3 and placed 8 times from 26 career starts. Last won in Niigata 1800m at this level in August 2017. Ran 2nd at this level and course and distance in March, also in Niigata in late-July. Finished 5th last out in August over Niigata 1800m. Broke maiden at the course and distance two years ago. Looks good in track work. Can handle any going. Expected among top five picks.

Trend Line

3 wins and 3 placings from 12 career outings. Raced exclusively to left and predominately over mile. Last win posted in February 2018 and he is returning to 1800m for the first time in 2 years. Ran 7th last out over the mile at Tokyo in June. Extra distance a plus. First time racing to right. Could surprise.
