Five yearlings from Goffs UK for HKJC

31/08/2018 15:17

The Hong Kong Jockey Club bought five yearlings out of the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale at Doncaster this week, for a total outlay of £530,000 (approximately HK$5.467 million).

Among the quintet is an eye-catching colt catalogued as Lot 175, a £150,000 purchase by European champion sprinter and proven Group 1 producer Oasis Dream. The bay is a full-brother to the four-time winner Silent Echo, and hails from a top-class Juddmonte family, his second dam being the talented Quandary  ̶  a sister to G1 heroine All At Sea  ̶  whose daughters have produced the top level winners Twice Over, Timepiece and Passage Of Time.

Another youngster with a G1 connection is Lot 147, knocked down for £55,000. The Dandy Man chestnut is out of a half-sister to UK champion two-year-old filly Seazun, winner of the G1 Cheveley Park Stakes. The Club kicked off its buying with a successful bid of £140,000 for Lot 93, a bay colt by Kodiac out of multiple Listed winner Miss Honorine.

Day two saw the Club secure Lot 363 for £120,000. The bay Zebedee colt is a half-brother to speedy G3 winner Lady Macapa, being from a family that has produced high-class sprinters such as Millyant, Mirza and Prince Sabo.  Lot 344, a £65,000 colt by Holy Roman Emperor, is a half-brother to two winners.
