Hong Kong representative Chad Schofield was unable to notch a win on the second and final day of the JRA World All-Star Jockeys series at Sapporo Racecourse, Japan today (Sunday, 26 August), finishing ninth behind winner Christophe Lemaire. His best result from the day’s two legs was a fourth placed effort.

Schofield had banked 13 points in Saturday’s two heats to sit joint-ninth at the half-way point but was unable to make ground on the leaders during day two, kicking off the final stage with one point as his mount Evolution finished 13th in the third leg. He rounded out his debut World All-Star Jockeys experience aboard the four-year-old Spikenard in the finale, claiming fourth place and 12 more points.

In total, Schofield amassed 26 points. The victorious Lemaire scored 72 points to take the overall title, with former Hong Kong champion jockey Joao Moreira, representing Brazil this time, ranked fifth after winning the third leg with Encuentros.

In the team contest, Team JRA took the plaudits with an overall tally of 265 points to Team World All-Star’s 188 points.
