The Hong Kong Jockey Club purchased a Holy Roman Emperor colt out of the recent Arqana August Yearling Sale, at a cost of €150,000 (approximately HK$1.379 million).

The youngster, catalogued as Lot 5 at the prestigious Deauville auction, is out of an unraced Teofilo mare. The smart black type family has produced G1 winner Archarcharch and the three-time G1-placed filly Arch Swing.

The bay yearling’s sire, Holy Roman Emperor, has produced three standout Hong Kong gallopers; former Horse of the Year Designs On Rome and fellow G1 victors Beauty Only and Rich Tapestry.
