G1 – 1500m – Turf

1 Happy Clapper Grand galloper who’s won 10 from 32. Emphatic winner at first run in 2018 when 1.3 lengths clear of Global Glamour in G1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) at Randwick on 10 March. Has met Winx six times with two seconds, beaten 2 lengths and 1.3 lengths, best results. Won two of seven on soft ground, placed once in three starts on heavy.
2 Clearly Innocent Checked at start and settled too far back when 4.7 lengths 6th to Happy Clapper in G1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) at Randwick on 10 March. Fitter now and is unbeaten in four starts on slow and heavy ground. A winner at 1400m, this is first run beyond that distance.
3 Crack Me Up Impressive at first start for this stable when 0.5 lengths winner from Care To Think in G3 Liverpool City Cup (1300m) on soft ground at Randwick on 3 March. Rise in distance no issue and has twice won on soft ground. Well beaten only start on heavy ground. Up in class.
4 Winx Champion mare who is rated world’s best turf horse after 23 consecutive wins including 16 at Group 1 level. Returned from Cox Plate win last October with effortless 7 lengths win from Prized Icon in G1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on 3 March. Rain affected ground no issue. Has won past six starts on slow and heavy ground.
5 Invincible Gem Checked at start and ran on well when 2.8 lengths 3rd to Happy Clapper in G1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) at Randwick on 10 March. That was first run since September last year when third to Happy Clapper at 1400m. Good mare who’s won up to 1600m and has one win, two seconds from three starts on rain affected tracks.
6 Kementari Top class three-year-old unbeaten in three starts in 2018. Impressed with 1.5 lengths win from Pierata in G1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) on 10 March. Won only previous start on rain affected ground, a 1400m 2YO race on soft ground last year. Nine 3YO winners of this race in past 30 years.
