3

Sound Vivace

The 4-year-old daughter of Duramente showed dramatic change from 11th finish in a listed race (1600m) and won by 1.3L in the G2 Hanshin Himba Stakes over the same trip last time. No track worries. Sits handy or can take lead.

4

Andvaranaut

Third in the 2021 G1 Shuka Sho (2000m) and the grand-dam Air Groove is the Horse of the Year in Japan in 1997. Has not taken any success since the G2 Rose Stakes (2000m) in 2021, but showed some improvements, finishing 5th in the G2 Hanshin Himba Stakes (1600m) last time.

5

Stunning Rose

Has shown consistency in finishing in the money in 11 of 12 runs.  No match for the winner when 14th in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup (2200m) due to the yielding track in November 2022, but showed her upward form, finishing 5th in the G2 Nakayama Kinen (1800m) in February. Races handy.

6

Songline

Won the first G1 in the Yasuda Kinen in 2022, did not show her class again when she finished 10th in the G3 1351 Turf Sprint at King Abdulaziz in Riyadh in February last time. Settles at midfield or further.

7

Izu Jo No Kiseki

Got up to beat Sodashi right on the finish line for her first graded stakes win in the G2 Fuchu Himba Stakes (1800m) in October 2022. Finished brave 4th to Equinox in the G1 Arima Kinen (2500m) but disappointing 10th in the G2 Hanshin Himba Stakes (1600m) on her return from a 3.5-month break last time.

8

La La Christine

A consistent performer between 1400m and 1800m with six wins and three seconds.  Won the G3 Kyoto Himba Stakes (1400m) for the first graded stakes win in February last time. A fit horse.

9

Kurino Premium

A G3 winner.  No match for the winners in two starts at this class. Showed encouraging runs in three G3 races this term, finishing 2nd, 5th and 3rd respectively. Returned to 1600m for the first time since last September.

10

Sublime Anthem

Showed little after winning the G2 Hochi Hai Fillies’ Revue (1400m) in 2022, but made lots of progress when she finished 2nd in the G2 Hanshin Himba Stakes (1600m) last time.  Races held up but can sit closely to the speed.

11

Namur

A 3-time winner over this trip.  Rounded off the 2022 term with 5th-place in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup (2200m) and finished well 2nd when dropping down the distance to 1600m at G3 in February last time.  Hold-up runner. Likes firm track.

12

Namura Clair

Finished on the board in all 12 starts.  Took her third group race success in the G3 Silk Road Stakes (1200m) in January before 2nd in the G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen (1200m) when she showed a good turn of foot. Races held up. No track worries.

13

Divina

Beautifully bred 5-year-old mare by Maurice and two-time G1 winner Verxina won 3-win class in March 2022, but showed little at graded stakes. Two-digit finishes in the last two starts at G3 and G2.

14

Stellaria

Finished side by side to win the first group race at G3 (1800m) in April on her return from 11 and half-month break. Hold-up runner.  Unknown on softer track.

15

Rouge Stiria

The daughter of Deep Impact won three in a row over this trip. Came off a sixth-place at G2 (1600m) last time. Races handy.

16

Sodashi

The defending champion makes her 2023 debut and seeks the fourth G1 victory on Sunday. Unbeaten against fillies/mares over 1600m.  First run up since finishing 3rd in the G1 Mile Championship in November 2022. Damian Lane has been booked to ride.
