G1 – 2200m – Turf

1

Lilac

The 4-year-old daughter of Orfevre showed little in the fillies’ classic races but showed big improvement when she finished a dead-heat 2nd in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup (2200m) in November.  Only finished 9th in the G2 Meguro Kinen in May last time.

Karate

Landed his third group race success carrying 130lb in the G3 Niigata Daishoten (2000m) in May.  Met traffic and finished 9th at G3 over 2000m at this course last time.  Handles all going.

Danon The Kid

Has been winless since the G1 Hopeful Stakes in 2020.  Finished well 2nd in the G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Cup (2000m) in December and 3rd in the G1 Osaka Hai (2000m) in April.  5th in the G1 FWD QEII Cup (2000m) last time.  Races handy and likes the firm track.

Boccherini

A seven-time winner from 1600m to 2500m.  Showed consistency at G2 last term but had two-digit finishes in the G1 Japan Cup (2400m) and the G1 Arima Kinen (2500m).  Bounced back to finish 2nd at G2 (2500m) in March and won at G3 (2000m) in June last time.

Equinox

Currently at the top of the LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings. The son of Kitasan Black will run for the first time since his sensational victory in the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic (2410m) in March. Versatile with no ground worries.

Through Seven Seas

The 5-year-old daughter of Dream Journey won a 3-win class race (2000m) on her return from a 5-month break in January and secured her first group race victory in the G3 Nakayama Himba Stakes (1800m) in March last time.  No ground worries and hold-up runner.

Pradaria

The 2022 G2 Aoba Sho winner never landed a victory in the following three starts last term but showed upward curve in three starts this term, finishing 3rd, 3rd and 5th respectively at G2.

Vela Azul

The talented 6-year-old by Eishin Flash won his first G1 in the Japan Cup in 2022.  Had two-digit finishes in the last two starts but handles any track condition.  Hold-up runner.

Justin Palace

Five wins from ten career starts and only missed the top 3 spots three times.  Won the G1 Tenno Sho Spring (3200m) by 2.5L with fast closing speed last start in April.

Deep Bond

A four-time runner-up at G1. Has not tasted any success since last March and marked his third consecutive runner-up in the G1 Tenno Sho Spring (3200m) last time in April.  Handles any track conditions.

Geraldina

Won the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup over this course and distance in November 2022.  Finished out of frame in two starts this term.  Versatile distancewise and groundwise.

Ask Victor More

The G1 Kikuka Sho (Japanese St. Leger) winner of 2022 showed little in two runs this term, finishing 9th in the G2 Nikkei Sho (2500m) and 11th in the G1 Tenno Sho Spring (3200m) respectively.  No track concern.  Races handy or leads.

Geoglyph

Has not tasted any success since the G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) in 2022.  Shifted to dirt in last two starts, finishing 4th in the G1 Saudi Cup (1800m) and 11th in the G1 Dubai World Cup (2000m) respectively.

Breakup

Scored his first group race success in the G2 Copa Republica Argentina (2500m).  Bounced back from 16th in the G1 Arima Kinen (2500m) in December to 3rd in the G2 Hanshin Daishoten (3000m) and 4th in the G1 Tenno Sho Spring (3200m) in the last two starts.

Unicorn Lion

The runner-up in this race two years ago.  Showed little at G2 (2200m) in February before 5th in the G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick in April last time.

Mozu Bello

Has not tasted any success since January in 2020.  Showed little in the four starts this term.  No track worries.  Hold-up runner.

Dura Erede

Performed well on both turf and dirt. Showed his class by winning the G1 Hopeful Stakes (2000m) in 2022 and placing 2nd in the G2 UAE Derby (1900m) in March.  He stumbled at the break and dislodged his rider in the G1 Japanese Derby (2400m) last time.  Races handy or leads.
