G1 – 1200m – Turf

Al Suhail Talented but all six wins over at least 1400m, not bred to appreciate shorter and not raced since March. Tough task.
Artorius Only won 3 from 16 but is a top class Australian sprinter. Close third in this race last year then third again in G1 July Cup at Newmarket. Clear chance.
Art Power Good record at Ascot and third in this race in 2021. Won G2 over 1200m at the Curragh impressively in May. A strong contender.
Big Invasion USA raider. Prolific winner over 1000m to 1400m all on firm ground. Fine second over 1200m in G1 at Belmont two weeks ago. Good chance if fast ground.
Cannonball Good class sprinter in Australia but last of 17 in G1 King’s Stand Stakes on Tuesday. A huge challenge.
Coeur De Pierre Solid performer at below G1 level and close third in last year’s G1 Prix de l’Abbaye at Longchamp on favoured soft ground. Unlikely winner.
Emaraaty Ana 15th in this race last year. A genuine G1 performer but not won since 2021 and well beaten in G2 at York in May. Unlikely winner.
Khaadem Fourth in this race in 2020. Not quite as good now. Decent third in Listed race over 1200m in May. Tough task.
Kinross Eighth in this race last year. Subsequently won similar G1 at Ascot. High class but not run since November. Not ruled out.
Rohaan Fine record at Ascot, including winning Class 2 Wokingham Stakes for the last two years. Good fourth in G1 at Ascot last October but well beaten in Listed race in May. Tough task.
Run To Freedom Midfield in this race last year but subsequently second in similar G1 at Ascot when 150/1. Won Listed race last month. Could run into a place.
The Astrologist High class Australian sprinter. Encouraging warm up when second in G3 race over 1400m at Haydock 14 days ago. Would not want soft ground. Interesting.
Wellington Hong Kong raider. Top class sprinter, winner of four G1 races. Raced exclusively at Sha Tin. A fascinating contender facing a new challenge.
Highfield Princess Top class sprinter, winner of three G1 races last year from 1000m to 1300m. Second in G1 King’s Stand Stakes on Tuesday. Excellent chance if that race hasn’t taken too much out of her.
Sacred Close fifth in this race last year. Won over 1000m as a 2-y-o but all four other wins over 1400m, including in G3 race on all-weather track in May. A fair chance.
Sandrine A good, versatile performer but not quite up to G1 level. Likely to again fall short of what is needed.
