G3 – 1200m – Turf
1 |
Belbek |
First run at Deauville but very effective over this trip and at this level, coming from the back to beat subsequent winners in a Chantilly G3 in June. Led for some of the way but outgunned late on in a G2 there since. |
2 |
Denver Chop |
Showed improvement on his latest start when narrowly winning a 1200m conditions’ event at Chantilly in June. More progress needed if he is going to strike here. |
3 |
The Antarctic |
Up to 1200m for the first time, in a G2 at Chantilly this month, he posted a career best surging late to finish second to a better-fancied stablemate. Looks a leading contender here. |

Good Guess |
An expensive purchase who is proving smart. Favourite for both starts, winning both those Chantilly races – latterly at this trip – with a bit up his sleeve. Deserves a crack at group company now. |
5 |
Royal Lea |
This speedily bred filly has now won twice in Italy, latterly in Listed company at this trip. However it is very likely that she will face much stronger opposition in this Deauville G3. |
6 |
Manhattan Jungle |
Showed some blistering speed earlier in the year to win her first three starts, but struggled when coming to Ascot for a G2. Now rises to 1200m which should suit nicely. |
7 |
Queen Kahina |
US bred with more of a dirt than a turf pedigree. But an outsider for a Listed event over 1000m on her career debut here this month, she outran her odds to finish a close fourth. |
8 |
Sivana |
An inexpensive purchase, looking a bargain after running well in all three starts, latterly when narrowly winning a 1000m Listed event here. Pedigree positive about this longer trip. |
9 |
Wootton City |
Won her first three starts – all by narrow margins on slow ground – two of them over this trip. Most recently she only just failed to win a Listed event here at Deauville. |
10 |
Kerindia |
Well supported in the betting to win a novices’ event at Nottingham on her only start, appearing to know her job and gaining a narrow win. Up in class and trip for this second attempt. |
