G1 – 2424m – Turf
1 |
High Definition |
A big horse who has generally failed to live up to expectations and has been a beaten favourite five times. However, he almost stole a 2100m G1 from the front at The Curragh last month which was much more positive. |

Hukum |
Remarkably consistent and with terrific acceleration, resulting in four G3 victories and a G2 win at Meydan, in March. Seventh but only beaten 1.75l in a G1 there last time, the modest pace not helping. Supporters will hope they go fast this time. |
3 |
Living Legend |
A former handicapper- who once went 841 days without a race due to injury problems – but has made some massive progress this season, notably when fending off a proven G1 horse and others in a G2 over this trip at Newmarket in April month. |
4 |
Manobo |
Big and strong and with stamina for further but has the class and speed to make a big impact here. Has won five of his six starts, only just failing to land a Meydan G2 last time, after racing too keenly. |
5 |
Palavecino |
A six times winner but four of those came on all-weather surfaces and his Lingfield win on his last start was in handicap company. Likely to be outclassed in this famous G1. |
6 |
Pyledriver |
This popular globe-trotting galloper led and then rallied bravely to win this last year, and his second to Glory Vase in the 2021 LONGINES Hong Kong Vase was another excellent display. A good fourth in a Meydan G1 last time, despite not having much room when challenging. |
