1200m – Turf
1 | Brutus | Ridden perfectly by top jockey Ruan Maia when defeating the favourite last start in the same grade race on the Polytrack. Switches to the turf track where he has been placed before and can run well. |
2 | Speedy Missile | Brilliant winner over 1600m back on 26 September when he romped home by 5L. Has been freshened and drops back to the 1200m trip, which is not ideal and that will make it tougher. |
3 | Sure Will Do | Impressive debut winner who was labelled “the next big thing” by his trainer after scoring easily over this track and distance. Has trialled well since and shapes as the horse to beat despite the rise in class. |
4 | Maceo | Finally broke through for a win last start in a moderate Maiden race on the Polytrack. This is much tougher and place chances appear best. |
5 | Triple Bowl | Former Malaysian galloper who is yet to win in Singapore in five starts and faces a tough task against these. Needs it easier. |
6 | Saturday | Caught the eye flashing home last start when 5th to Stormy View. That form line appears much weaker than this race and he would need to raise the bar. |
7 | Day Approach | Promising 3YO who broke through last start for his maiden win in easy fashion. Ultra-consistent and looks to be improving and can challenge here. |
8 | Winning Spirit | Class 5 winner three starts ago who finished 2nd in a Class 4 race last start. Place chance at best. |
9 | You Qian Zhuan | Stormed home two starts ago when 2nd to Born To Win at Class 4 level before running well when 7th to Inferno in the SIN G1 Singapore Guineas (1600m). Has been freshened but may need it longer. |
10 | Ablest Ascend | Withdrawn |
11 | Relentless | Stormed home last start to score an upset win and has shown enough to be considered for top 5 places. |
12 | Boomba | Impressive debut winner who failed badly at his next start when the vets reported he returned lame in the off-fore. His recent trial was only fair and it’s hard to see him winning. |
13 | Seson | Struck a very weak Maiden race when winning in good style over 1400m. Back to 1200m and up in class, this looks tougher. |
14 | Kwoi Hoi | Newcomer who trialled okay when not being tested. The betting market will be the best guide. |

15 | Nineteen Gale | Handy stayer of the future who was beaten on good rated track last start. Not suited by the drop back to 1200m and this appears too short. |
16 | Crystal Star | Yet to show up in three starts and looks outclassed. |
