| 3 | Black Corton | An intriguing runner. 8-y-o is a top class staying chaser who acts on soft ground but has never run on the Flat. Speculative but dangerous to dismiss. |
| 4 | Cayirli | Beat Lucky Deal over 3200m on all-weather this year but enormous task at the weights. |
| 5 | Cleonte | Midfield in last year’s Ascot Stakes before winning handicap there and going on to finish third in Cesarewitch. Good third to Dee Ex Bee in G3 Sagaro Stakes last month. Acts on soft. |
| 6 | Coeur Blimey | Won handicap at Newbury in April over 3600m on soft ground but an enormous amount to find on handicap ratings. |
| 7 | Jukebox Jive | Well behind when 33-1 for Ascot Stakes on Tuesday and faces an apparently impossible task. |
| 8 | Le Maitre Chat | Last in this race last year at 66-1 but won handicap at York over 3300m at same price on latest run last September. Needs another miracle. |
| 9 | Max Dynamite | 9-y-o dual purpose horse trained by Willie Mullins. An infrequent winner but good on his day. Just beaten by stablemate Thomas Hobson in G2 Doncaster Cup over 3600m last year but well beaten in 2016 and 2018 Gold Cups. Not run since October. |
| 10 | Paddys Motorbike | Good performance for new trainer to win handicap at Goodwood over 2800m on soft ground after two years off. Enormous task at the weights. |
| 11 | Pilansberg | A Group class performer in France in 2015 but became disappointing as a hurdler in Britain, moved stables in April and tailed off when 66-1 for Listed race over 2400m at Ascot last month. |
| 12 | Younevercall | 8-y-o has never run on Flat but high class hurdler who won a G2 hurdle at Sandown in April. Stays well but soft ground would probably be against him. |
| 13 | Lucky Deal | Stays 3200m and won over that trip on latest appearance at Haydock. Needs to improve to match the market leaders and soft ground likely to be against him. |
