| 5 | Countofmontecristo | Former champion three-year-old who has endured a frustrating run of minor places, including finishing 2nd to Debt Collector at his last two starts. Must be rated a top four chance. |
| 6 | Blizzard | Former Hong Kong galloper who now calls Singapore home, where he has scored one win from six starts. This rising eight-year-old is yet to win over 1600m and place chances appear best. |

Had genuine excuses last start in the SIN Group 3 Moonbeam Vase (1600m) when the saddle slipped and he suffered severe racing interference in the home straight. He looks the dark horse in the race. |
