Superstars Ka Ying Rising, Romantic Warrior seek history as FWD Champions Day combines racing excellence and entertainment at Sha Tin

K-pop powerhouse vocalist HWASA will make her first live appearance at Sha Tin, while renowned singer Pakho Chau will also perform in the Parade Ring for the first time at the opening performance.

FWD Champions Day will be staged at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday, 26 April. As part of the Year of the Horse’s themed racing programme, FWD Champions Day is Hong Kong’s annual spring international racing event, bringing together top-class horses for three of the world’s most important Group 1 races.

The HK$24 million Chairman’s Sprint Prize (1200m) sees Horse of the Year Ka Ying Rising go for a record 20th straight win; global champion Romantic Warrior seeks an unprecedented fourth HK$30 million FWD QEII Cup (2000m), while the FWD Champions Mile (1600m), worth HK$24 million, is to feature various Group 1 winners. In addition to the racing programme, a range of entertainment activities, themed food and merchandise, as well as promotional offers is available.

Sha Tin racegoers may join the FWD Champions Day Year of the Horse Golden Lucky Draw for a chance to win a designated Gold Bar Set by scanning any designated QR code on site by 3.30pm to complete registration and enter the draw. The lucky draw offers one “Year of the Horse” Gold Bar Set worth around HK$100,000 (approximately 40g AU999 in total) as the grand prize, along with a selection of other prizes. @

Admission to Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourses will commence at 10.30am with the first race scheduled for 12.30pm.
