RACE 1 – SPICY SO SMART
SPICY SO SMART, which commenced to buck near the 1000 Metres, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. SPICY SO SMART was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer P C Ng this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. As previously advised, SPICY SO SMART will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a series of consecutive barrier trials utilising raceday gear and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
RACE 2 – NEW POWER
NEW POWER, which performed disappointingly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. NEW POWER was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C W Chang this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, NEW POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
The Veterinary Officer reported that examinations conducted this morning of all other horses inspected during last night’s racemeeting were shown to have no significant findings.
