Victoria Derby Day (Sat 4 Nov)

The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting nine races from the Victoria Derby Day meeting at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne on Saturday, 4 November (first race 9.20am Hong Kong time).

The Victoria Derby (G1 2500M for 3yo) has been run since 1855 and is the oldest Classic in Australia. The 2500m distance is an ultimate stamina test for a three-year-old in the early season, while trackside, Derby Day is also known for its unique monochromatic dress code where racegoers celebrate a glamorous day of racing in their best black and white outfit.

Breeders’ Cup Turf and Breeders’ Cup Classic (Sun 5 Nov)

On the morning of Sunday, 5 November, the Breeders’ Cup Turf and Breeders’ Cup Classic will be beamed live for betting (first race 5.50am Hong Kong time).

The Breeders’ Cup Series was created in 1984 and features contests for elite dirt and turf horses of different categories. A total of 14 Breeders’ Cup races will be run over two days with US$31 million (approx. HK$242.40 million) prize money to be awarded. Santa Anita Park in California has the honour of hosting the landmark 40th anniversary of the Breeders’ Cup series.

Melbourne Cup Day (Tue 7 Nov)

Seven races from the Melbourne Cup Day meeting to be held at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne, Australia on Tuesday, 7 November will be simulcast live in Hong Kong (first race 9.40am Hong Kong time).

The Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival reaches its climax on Melbourne Cup Day. At 3.00pm (AEDT) on the first Tuesday in November, Australia comes to a standstill as people tune in for the race that stops a nation. The 2023 Melbourne Cup continues to be the world’s richest handicap and staying race with AU$7.75 million (HK$38.42 million) of prize money plus trophies.

Queen Elizabeth II Cup Day (Sun 12 Nov)

Kyoto Racecourse of Japan will play host to a nine race simulcast fixture on Sunday, 12 November (first race 10.30am Hong Kong time).

The highlight of the meeting is the Queen Elizabeth II Cup, one of the key features of Japan’s Autumn International Series and is the only race in Japan exclusively for fillies and mares aged three or above carrying Group 1 status.
