Cox Plate Day from Australia (Sat 28 Oct)
The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting nine races from the Cox Plate Day to be held at Moonee Valley Racecourse in Australia on Saturday, 28 October (first race 9.45 Hong Kong time).
Victoria’s Spring Racing Carnival continues at the Valley this weekend with a strong programme where the feature event is the unmissable AU$5 million Cox Plate (G1 2040m for 3yo and upwards), the greatest weight-for-age race in Australasia.
Peter Lau Pak Fai-owned Romantic Warrior will become just the fourth Hong Kong trained runner to contest this Moonee Valley feature after River Verdon (1994), Elegant Fashion (2004) and Super Kid (2005). The reigning champion middle-distance galloper of Hong Kong gave a good account in finishing fourth in the Turnbull Stakes on his Australian debut.
The day also features the Group One 1200m Manikato Stakes for the leading sprinters.

During the Happy Valley race meeting on Sunday, 29 October, the Tenno Sho Autumn will be simulcast for betting from Tokyo Racecourse (14.40 Hong Kong time).

Final declarations with barrier draws for the Cox Plate Day races and the Tenno Sho Autumn will be available on Friday, 27 October.
