2000m – Turf
1 |
Madame Ambassador |
Has plenty of Newmarket experience including handicap wins over 2000m and 2400m. Raised 7lb for her victory – leading for much of the trip – here last month but it was impressive. Battles hard. Chance. |
2 |
Lady Alara |
Following a break she delivered two career-best performances last month, winning at Ascot and then second here. Needs to prove her stamina for this longer trip but her pedigree is positive on that. |

Morning Poem |
A winner over this trip on the July course here last year. Absent for 406 days and then didn’t make much impact on last month’s return. Supporters will hope that she is sharper for that. |

Crystallium |
Best run of the season came when a fast-finishing fourth – after a slow start – in a 1600m Listed event at Sandown. Not yet proven at this longer trip, a worry. |
5 |
Totnes |
Arrives here in sharp form having won handicaps over this trip at Chelmsford and Chepstow before finishing second in stronger company at Newbury. Handicap mark still rising, but she’s smart. |
6 |
Red Danielle |
Had a simple task against two inferior opponents last time and is best judged on her previous second in novices’ event over this trip at Newbury – the form of that race working out pretty well. |
7 |
Whispering Words |
Lightly-raced but won a 1600m novices’ event on the July Course here in August – looking as though this longer trip would be a plus. Another promising effort when second at Kempton last month. |
8 |
Queen Regent |
Only win so far on an all-weather surface but from a top stable and no reason on pedigree why she should not handle grass. Well beaten when last seen but probable excuses for that. |
9 |
Prenup |
Led at a steady pace and then responded to pressure to easily win a heavy ground 1800m handicap at Sandown in August – probably a personal best. She has won on fast ground also. |
10 |
Lady Boba |
A lightly-raced filly from a stable enjoying a terrific season. No trip worries and, though her only win has come in soft-ground maiden company, she deserves a little respect. |

Aiming High |
Never a serious threat but still ran a positive race when fourth at York last time. Has been looking too high in the handicap but the drop should help. |
