The Hong Kong Jockey Club purchased one eye-catching colt out of the recent 2023 Bloodstock South Africa National Yearling Sale in Johannesburg, South Africa for a total outlay of ZAR2,400,000 (approx. HK$1,056,000).

By Vercingetorix, the well-bred bay is out of the mare Acaciawood, who has already produced one winner from one runner. In Hong Kong, Vercingetorix has had limited exposure with Super Commander his only progeny – a two-time winner this season.

Vercingetorix was unbeaten on the track in South Africa, while his most famous offspring includes Group 1 winners Astrix, Pomp And Power and Cousin Casey.
