The Hong Kong Jockey Club bought three well-related colts out of the recent Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale (3-4 April) in Sydney, Australia for a total outlay of AU$2.13 million (approx. HK$11.23 million).

The first to fall the Club’s way was Lot 23 – a well-bred son of So You Think for AU$900,000 who has ties to 2004 Hong Kong Derby winner Lucky Owners. The colt’s dam Andresa is a full sister to the four-time Australian Group 1-winning Mosheen.

Lot 388 went to the Club for AU$580,000. The attractive youngster is a half-brother to the Group 1-winning Summer Passage, while his sire I Am Invincible is a proven source of winners in Hong Kong – headlined by Group 2 triumphant Wishful Thinker.

Lot 411 was the final colt secured by the Club for AU$650,000. The bay is by Deep Field, sire of star four-year-old Voyage Bubble – winner of the BMW Hong Kong Derby and Hong Kong Classic Mile this season. The juvenile’s dam The Soloist is closely related to Hong Kong Champion Sprinter (2020/21) Hot King Prawn.

Deep Field’s other notable progeny in Hong Kong currently in training includes Sky Field and the swiftly improving Howdeepisyourlove – a two-time Class 3 winner at Happy Valley.
