The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting nine races from the Lightning Stakes Day meeting to be held at Flemington Racecourse in Australia on Saturday, 18 February (1st race 9.35am Hong Kong time).
The Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival kicks off with the running of the G1 Black Caviar Lightning, one of the most anticipated sprint races in Australia. The 1000m weight-for-age contest down the Flemington straight forms part of a three race sprint series in autumn that also includes the G1 Oakleigh Plate and the G1 Newmarket Handicap. Nature Strip, the world’s highest-rated sprinter, is set to resume in the Black Caviar Lightning having won it in 2021 and finished an unlucky second last year.
The meeting will also feature five other stakes races and the Asian Racing Federation Trophy, which has been incorporated in the program to commemorate the 39th Asian Racing Conference to be held in Melbourne between 14 and 19 February.
