| Licence | A lightly raced four-year-old showing promise on several occasions including when finishing well into fourth in a 2400m G3 here. Down the field in a hot York handicap. |
| Phoenix Cowboy | Didn’t make much impact in this race last year but has generally done better since though off the track after not figuring significantly in a Listed event in July. |
| Sandhurst | Faded after leading in a 2400m Leopardstown G3 last time. Looks to have a hard task on this handicap debut. |
| Baby Zeus | Quite well fancied for this race last year, but raced too keenly. Quite promising after returning from a break when third at Galway last time, without looking like winning. |
| Nuits St Georges | A seven-times winner in the UK, with no worries at this trip and a preference for slow ground. But will need to improve significantly on his three starts since moving to Ireland. |
| Dancila | In August he won a 2000m handicap, his only previous run at this track. A shrewd front-running ride also saw him win last time. In form and looks nicely handicapped. |
| In Favour | Enjoyed some success in France when trained by ace-trainer Andre Fabre. Has not recaptured that in two starts since, though not disgraced last time. |
| Tiger Voice | Well beaten in recent starts over obstacles before running a fair sixth on the Flat last time. Hard to fancy. |
| Dutch Schultz | Having his first start at Leopardstown, but arrives here off a solid third of 20 in a Galway handicap in July. Stable in good form. |
| Jesse Evans | Having run a terrific second in a hot Galway hurdle race he was made favourite to win a handicap on the Flat, but disappointed. Wants a strong gallop. |
| Temple Of Artemis | Too strong for his opposition in a Chester handicap in May. Unable to launch a serious challenge at The Curragh after a 100-day break. |
| Kojin | Was struggling to win but that has all changed with victories in his last two races. Latterly he showed a really good attitude to land a handicap this month, with this the target since. |
| Shajak | This handicap looked a good destination for him after his solid third in a 2800m Listed event here last month. |
| Yashin | Twice a handicap winner in May including over 2400m here. Not seen since a dismal display at Royal Ascot for which there surely were excuses. |
| Cask Mate | Has not run especially well in his last four starts, and his handicap mark probably needs to slip further. And this is a very hot event. |
| La Hacienda | Always travelling easily when winning a handicap over this course and distance in July. Also in great form with victories on her last two starts. More improvement very possible. |
| Golden Twilight | Bounced back to winning form with a handicap victory on the Dundalk all-weather surface last month. Not certain that these different conditions will suit as well. |
| Female Soldier | Only win came in a 2000m maiden here. Just respectable efforts in stronger company since and the rise in trip not likely to help according to pedigree. |
| Moracana | Swooped from midfield to beat 19 rivals in a 2000m handicap here in April, a good effort under a big weight. But a disappointing favourite next time plus worries about this rise in trip. |
| My Mate Mozzie | Twice placed in minor events in May. Stays this trip, and comes from an in-form stable. |
| One Cool Poet | Comes here in winning form, having won a handicap over hurdles in August. Less good on the Flat previously, and well beaten in this race in 2019. |
| Khezaana | Not beaten far in a handicap here on her penultimate start. Didn’t make much impression when reappearing 111 days later. |
| Nusret | Consistent, and has had this race as a plan since winning a maiden at The Curragh in July. Not disgraced in a strong York handicap in last month. |

| Zileo | Very hard to fancy having been soundly beaten on all three starts since being gelded. |
| Merlin Giant | Last seen when winning over hurdles, in July. Fitted with a hood plus cheekpieces and comes from a shrewd stable. |
| Effernock Fizz | Ran in this race last year, starting at very long odds and getting well beaten. The same is probably likely here. |
