The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting eight races from the Korea Cup Day and Grosser Preis von Baden Day on Sunday, 4 September.
Korea Cup Day (first race 1.35pm Hong Kong time)
The Korea Cup (1800m) and Korea Sprint (1200m) will return to the international racing calendar after two years of absence. Carrying International Group 3 status for the first time, challengers from Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Britain will take on the host nation and attempt to claim a share of the KRW 1 billion on offer for each invitational race.
Hong Kong will be represented by KINGS SHIELD (F C Lor) in the Cup and COMPUTER PATCH (K H Ting) in the Sprint. Matthew Chadwick will partner both horses.
Grosser Preis von Baden Day (first race 8.45pm Hong Kong time)
The Grosser Preis von Baden (2400m), now in its 152nd running, has enjoyed Group 1 status since 1972 and is often Germany’s highest rated race. The 2022 renewal will feature the mouthwatering head-to-head between the Arc winning TORQUATOR TASSO and Deutsches Derby champion SAMMARCO.
