1582m – Turf

1

Bay Of Honour

Winner of three of his five starts and a clear career highlight last time when he dominated a Newmarket handicap from the gate. Hiked 8lb in the handicap but he’s smart.

2

New Kingdom

Ran a good third at Newmarket last time. The hood seemed to help then and is fitted again.

3

Power Of Beauty

Two wins and a close miss in a Listed event last season. But he hasn’t looked near his best on either 2022 start.

4

Golden Voice

Only just failed to win a handicap over this course and distance in May. Has won twice since representing continued improvement. Just beaten at Redcar this month.

5

Mr Professor

All three wins have come over this trip. Came close to winning a Listed race at Meydan but three starts since not so good.

6

Bolthole

Twice a winner and twice disappointing, from six career starts. Got into contention, just tiring at the end when a solid third at Goodwood last time.

7

Operating

Has won his last two races (on fast ground) with facts and figures suggesting an improving profile. Won easily last time despite an imperfect trip. Up 8lb. Stable won this last year.

8

Al Marmar

Gelded which probably resulted in the big improvement that saw him win an Ascot handicap. Then second to a subsequent winner, at Newmarket.

9

Encourageable

Only win came on an all-weather surface but some decent turf efforts more recently though could never make up enough ground when favourite last time.

10

System

She delivered easily her best performance of this year when winning over Doncaster’s straight 1600m this month. Both runs at this track have been modest.

11

Blenheim Boy

A 1400m novices’ winner here last year. Slow ground then was in his favour and recent starts have been on unfavourable quick ground. Rain please.

12

Spirit Catcher

Winner of a slow ground handicap over this trip in April. Some modest efforts followed but ran a close third last time when fitted with a hood.

13

Leuven Power

Has won two of his three 2022 starts and looked to thrive when stepping up to this distance, thrashing his rivals at Salisbury last time.

14

Point Lynas

Trainer says he wants good or slower ground for this improved gelding though he did manage to win on fast ground at Redcar last time, leading throughout.

15

City Runner

Gives the impression he wants a gap between races, but the 23 days since he won a 1600m Sandown handicap may be enough.

16

Master Richard

The tactics that saw him lead throughout in a handicap over this course and distance last month may well be attempted again here.

17

Exminster

Has underperformed on different tracks on fast ground on his last two starts. But in May he had won a slow ground handicap over this course and distance.
