G2 – 1200m – Turf

1

Royal Scotsman

Very progressive following up a G2 third at Royal Ascot with a G2 victory at Goodwood. One of the very best two-year-olds in the UK on that evidence.

2

Catch The Paddy

Has won his last two starts and proved his liking for this course and distance with a handicap victory last month. In deeper water here.

3

Chateau

Has won two of his five starts, latterly in Listed company at Newbury. Then not quite quick enough but still running a good third in a Goodwood G2.

4

Chuzzlewit

An expensive yearling purchase, he lost many lengths at the start before making very encouraging late headway at Redcar last month, his only start.

5

Clearpoint

Has started favourite for both starts, winning both with a bit to spare, latterly leading throughout at Newcastle. His trainer has labelled him “a future star”.

6

Cold Case

Progressive according to facts and figures, and also has the advantage of winning course and distance form even if that was only in maiden company.

7

Galeron

A Goodwood maiden winner over this trip, but didn’t make a big enough impact in a G2 last time to suggest he has a big chance.

8

Lakota Blue

Consistent and battles hard, as he did when narrowly winning novice events on his last two starts. Others preferred here.

9

Marshman

Has shown a lot of speed to win both starts, especially impressive when powering clear of his rivals from the front at Thirsk. Up in grade, but he deserves it.

10

Never Just A Dream

Started favourite on his debut but made no impact. Much better this month when winning very easily at Wolverhampton.

11

Noble Style

An expensive purchase from a fast family, and has won both starts – at Ascot (having a subsequent G2 winner behind him) and Newmarket.

12

Waiting All Night

Only win came on his debut and, though he has put in some decent efforts in stronger company since, his winning chance looks very slim.
