G1 – 1600m – Turf

Kennella |
Prominent until weakened, finishing last in a Royal Ascot G2. However back in top form in easier company when winning a Listed race over this course and distance this month. This is harder. |
2 |
Pearls Galore |
A G2 winner over this trip at The Curragh in May. Then second to an established G1 performer in another G2 at the same track. Probably needs delivering late as she can be lazy once leading. |
3 |
Saffron Beach |
Extremely talented and very happy over a straight 1600m. Has had this on her agenda since convincingly outgunned six opponents in a fast-ground G2 at Royal Ascot, as impressive as her G1 Newmarket win on good ground last October. |
4 |
Goldistyle |
A 1400m Listed winner at Longchamp in May then fading into fourth – but only 3/4l behind the winner – in a Chantilly G3 in June. Facts and figures suggest that a win here looks unlikely. |
5 |
Sibila Spain |
Missed a race at Royal Ascot after getting upset in the stalls then well beaten at Newmarket on ground that was probably too quick. In a G2 on slow ground at Saint-Cloud in May she had swooped late to win. |
6 |
Malavath |
A slow ground winner over 1200m at Chantilly, also enjoying the testing conditions when winning a 1400m G3 at Deauville in April. Will need to improve on two subsequent runs. |
7 |
Tenebrism |
This Irish-trained filly returns to Deauville where she won a 1400m G1, a second G1 victory on just her fifth career start. She had to wait for a run, but then accelerated impressively. Just needs to prove herself at 1600. |
