G1 – 1800m – Turf

Russian Rock |
Has tons of ability and gets the plum gate. He has run some very good races and his regular rider knows his every stride. He is no doubt one of the horses to beat. |
2 |
Astrix |
His run in Durban July was far from disappointing – his win in Premier’s Champions Challenge was brilliant when beating Sparkling Water – we all know what Sparkling Water has done since. Big runner. |
3 |
Crown Towers |
Is hard to assess on recent form. He needs to bounce right back to very best. |
4 |
Kommetdieding |
Won the Durban July last year and is packed with class, talent and ability. He can never be ignored and should be right there. |
5 |
Jet Dark |
Ran an absolute cracker in Durban July last time showing his class and ability. One of the leading lights here. |
6 |
Al Muthana |
Ran a fair race in Durban July and has strong overall form. He can win. |
7 |
Mk’s Pride |
Goes well for Muzi Yeni and brings good form into the race. He can never be ignored. |
8 |
Linebacker |
Disappointed in Durban July but can be forgiven for that effort. A much better race from him can be expected – do not rule him out. |
9 |
Firealley |
Needs to do a bit more based on his recent efforts but has shown encouraging capabilities before. In saying that, others are preferred for the win. |
