1000m – Turf

1

Mountain Peak

Is beginning to look better than a handicapper having posted terrific career best efforts on his last two starts, especially his front-running defeat of 19 rivals under top weight here.

2

Hurricane Ivor

Nowhere near his best on his last three starts. Some terrific sprinting efforts last year including when only just failing to win a handicap over this course and distance under a big weight.

3

Corazon

A lightly raced filly who won a G3 sprint at Longchamp last year under a positive ride. Eased a couple of pounds by the handicapper since finishing down the field here on her 2022 return.

4

Bond Chairman

His three best performances have come at this track. Especially when only just failing to win a 20-runner handicap this month. Fast ground ideal.

5

King Of Stars

His five career wins have all been at around this speedsters’ trip, on a variety of different surfaces. Ran well at Sandown two starts back, but was slowly away and always struggling last time.

6

Lovely Mana

A stylish winner at Sandown two starts back, her first victory on grass. Also her close fourth of 20 here earlier this month suggests that she is still progressing as a sprinter.

7

Jawwaal

Beaten 4.75L in this race last year, but off a 10lb easier handicap mark after some disappointing efforts so far this season. Seems best on a good or fast surface.

8

Live In The Moment

Handicap mark dropping after some generally disappointing displays. He has run well on a fast surface but slow ground would provide his best chance of a surprise win here.

9

Call Me Ginger

His five career wins have all come at around 1200m but at least Ascot’s 1000m does demand stamina as well as speed. Not beaten far when sixth at Ayr on Monday.

10

Lynns Boy

Yet to win in seven turf starts though a close second in a fast-ground sprint at Doncaster in April. Has changed trainer since his latest start.
