Second in this last year off a 5lb lower handicap mark, later winning handicaps at Chester and Goodwood. Disappointing on his last two starts, but probable excuses for both those efforts.

Soto Sizzler

Seems to love Epsom, gaining his third win here – and at this trip – last time when responding to pressure and getting on top close home – probably delivering a career-best effort at the age of seven.

Caradoc

Hasn’t won any of his last ten races and performed modestly on his only previous run at this track. His trainer thinks he is best on a fast surface.

Cap Francais

In great form this season, winning a Newmarket handicap and then coming close to winning another one, at Chester. Encouraging that he ran well on this track on his only previous visit.

Royal Champion

Lightly campaigned with two substantial absences, and beaten a long way on his only start this season. However, he was once very well regarded so it may be too soon to write him off.

Moktasaab

Has won both starts since joining this stable, latterly when comfortably winning a handicap over this trip at Goodwood. Up another 5lb in the handicap but there could still be more upside to him.

Spirit Dancer

Tends to be campaigned on a slow turf surface and over this sort of trip. Having his first start for 213 days though he has run well after a break before.

Good Birthday

Only previous run on this quirky track was a fairly modest effort but this five-times winner did look in fairly good form last time out when third at Newmarket.

The City’s Phantom

Posted a clear career best last time out – over this trip on fast ground at Yarmouth – leading from gate to wire for a 6l victory, with his nearest rival that day having won since. Hiked 9lb by the handicapper.

Arqoob

His last five starts have been in Sakhir -Bahrain – earning some placemoney in handicaps at around this trip. His two career wins have come on a fast surface.

Bad Company

Drawn favourably against the stands’ rail he led all the way in a 2000m Newmarket handicap last month, the handicapper raising him 6lb for that. Has run well at this track before.

Love Is Golden

Third over this course and distance in April, and would have finished nearer to the winner given a clearer passage. Another good performance came at York last time when a close third.

Sweet Reward

A brave horse but the undulations of this track may not suit him ideally whilst slow ground are his ideal conditions. Has run quite well at Windsor on his last two starts.

Arctician

Not beaten far in any of his 2022 starts but they have been on all-weather surfaces like all his runs since joining this stable. Makes his move from off the pace.
