G1 – 1600m – Turf

1

Matenro Orion

Showed consistency in 4 starts with 2 wins and 2 seconds.  Changing tactics, he raced handy to win the G3 Shinzan Kinen (1600m) in January and finish close 2nd in the G2 New Zealand Trophy (1600m) last out.  Should be a contender.

2

Sonnet Phrase

Won a Newcomer by 3.5L in August, and close 2nd to Serifos in the G2 Daily Hai Nisai Stakes (1600m) last out.  Serious contender.

3

Solitario

Battled well when a neck 2nd in the G3 Shinzan Kinen (1600m) in January, but no match for the winner when 10th in the latest G2 Spring Stakes (1800m).

4

Serifos

Three wins in a row in the G2 Daily Hai Nisai Stakes (1600m) last November before 0.5L 2nd in the G1 Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes (1600m) in December.  First run since.

5

King Hermes

Finished in the money in all 4 runs. Won a G2 last autumn, and ran 3rd on his return from 5-month break in the prep race at G3 (1600m) last out.

6

Toshin Macau

Likes Tokyo with one win and one second in two starts at the track.  Being trapped and did not find a clear path when placed 5th in the G3 Falcon Stakes (1400m) last out.  1600m is no worries.

7

Taisei Divine

Showed a lot of progress when 2nd in the G3 Falcon Stakes, dropping to 1400m for the first time in March, and finished well 2nd over 1600m in a G3 latest.  Expected to make the frame.

8

Alluring Way

Won a Listed race over 1600m in February.  The only race she missed in the money was in the G1 Oka Sho (1600m) last out, but she was only beaten 1.5L in 8th.  Races handy.

9

Dante’s View

2nd in the G3 Kisaragi Sho (2000m) in February but finished below par in the G1 Satsuki Sho (2000m) last out.  This will be his first contest at 1600m.

10

Kawakita Reverie

Ran 3rd at G2 over 1600m last November and won the 1-win class (1600m) in January.  Disappointing in the G3 Arlington Cup (1600m) last month.

11

Industria

Finished on board in all 4 runs.  Won a Listed race (1600m) by 2.5L in January, before 5th place in the G2 Yayoi Sho (2000m) in March.  Damien Lane will ride.  Mile at Tokyo should be his best.

12

Sacred

Debuted in March and finished 3rd. Just won a maiden (1400m) on dirt last month.

13

Jean Gros

The strong contender showed his class at 1600m when winning wire-to-wire in the G2 New Zealand Trophy last month.  Mostly leads.

14

Voller Blute

Highly regarded filly with 2 wins at 1400m and 1600m in 4 starts.  Sent to the first pick in the first 3 starts, but finished out of frame in the G1 Oka Sho (1600m) last out due to the wide draw.

15

Otaru Ever

3rd in the G3 Niigata Nisai Stakes (1600m) last summer.  Bounced back from 12th in the G1 Asai Hai Futurity Stakes (1600m) when 2.3L 3rd in the G3 Falcon Stakes (1400m) last out.

16

Purpur Ray

Missed on board only once in 7 runs.  Showed upward curve this term with 2nd in a Listed race in January and won by 1.8L in the G3 Falcon Stakes (1400m) the latest.

17

Sternatia

Won a Newcomer (1600m) last summer and finished 0.5L 2nd in the G3 Saudi Arabia Royal Cup (1600m) in October, but finished out of frame in recent 2 runs.

18

Danon Scorpion

Bounced back from 7th in the G3 Kyodo News Hai (1800m) and proved his favouritism in the latest G3 Arlington Cup (1600m).  Trainer Takayuki Yasuda is very confident of his suitability to the 1600m. Hold-up runner.
